Alma Mae “Mame” Toman, 98, of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 in the Loyalhanna Care Center, Derry Township. She was born November 8, 1919 in Cooperstown, Derry Township, a daughter of the late Frank E. Jones and Georgia El Dewey (Smith) Jones.
Mame was the oldest member of the Latrobe 1st Church of God where she joined in 1938. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter 76, the Derry Historical Society, the 5th Ward Senior Citizens, and the Latrobe Golden Agers.
In addition to her parents, Mame was preceded in death by a grandson, David J. Toman in 2008, three sisters: Betty Virginia Jones, Margaret Nicholson, and Rose Marie Burd, and two brothers, Robert B. and Dale F. Jones.
She is survived by three sons: Jeffrey V. Toman of Latrobe, Randy E. Toman and his wife Barbara of Latrobe, and Scott T. Toman and his wife Mandee of Greensburg, seven grandchildren: Rebecca Hauser and her husband Jeffery, Bryan Toman and his girlfriend Joy, Courtney Wilfong and her husband Josh, Mackenzie Sendro and her husband Ryan, Bradley Toman and his wife Megan, Alex Toman and his fiancé Natalie, and Laura Toman; three great grandchildren: Ryder Wilfong, Lincoln Toman, and Monroe Toman, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mame was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was also loved by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Dec. 27th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, Dec. 28th in the funeral home chapel with her pastor, the Rev. Michael Bobula officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery.
