Erma D. Bailey, 101, a resident of the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, formerly of Latrobe, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born March 12, 1916 in Indiana, PA, a daughter of the late John and Effie (Ellenberger) Stake.
Erma was the oldest member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Latrobe, and one of her favorite pastimes was travelling by train.
In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by four sisters: June Ray, Violet Bowman, Sylvia Stewart, and Betty Stake, and four brothers: Merle, Earl, Blaine, and Carl Stake.
A beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she is survived by three children: Richard E. “Dick” Bailey and his wife Terry of Vero Beach, FL, Sandy Bailey Walker and her husband Thomas of Latrobe, and Jimmy E. Bailey of Vero Beach, FL, three grandchildren: Rich Walker (Paula), Eric Walker (Rayshelle), and Jason Bailey, four great grandchildren: Emily and Alex Walker, and Makenna and Abby Walker, a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Stake, a brother-in-law, William Stewart, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., 1500 Ligonier Street, Latrobe. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel with her pastor, the Rev. Les Hutchins officiating. Entombment will be in the Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum, Indiana, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church directed toward their Care Team or to the After School Kids Club, 2415 Laveen St., Latrobe, PA 15650.
