Flo Ann Falat

Flo Ann (Laughrey) Falat, 88, of Latrobe, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 7, 1930 in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Wilbert C. and Kathleen M. (Conway) Laughrey.

Flo was a retired Nurses’ Aid at Latrobe Hospital where she worked for 20 years and was loved by all that had the chance to meet her. She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Bradenville, where she was active in the Ladies Guild and enjoyed making pierogis with the other members. Organization was one of Flo’s strong characteristics, which led to her enjoying the opportunity to organize plays at St. Vincent. She was a wonderful woman who looked at life through rose colored glasses and saw the best in everyone. She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh that could light up any room she entered. Flo was loved greatly by all who had the privilege to know her and will be missed dearly by her friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Flo was preceded in death by four siblings; Robert, James, Richard, and Kathleen Laughrey, and her niece; Mary Beth. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Michael Falat; a son, Gregory and his wife Kathy of Lloydsville; a brother, John Laughrey (Gertrude) of Murrysville; grandchildren: Zachary, Kayla, Sebastian, Tabitha, Faith, Jasmine, Andrea, and Christopher; great grandchildren, Angela and Ellie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., 1500 Ligonier Street, Latrobe. Parastas services will be held at 7 PM Sunday and Panachida services will be held at 9:15 AM Monday, both in the funeral home. Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 AM Monday in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 112 St. Mary’s Way, Bradenville, PA 15620, or to Grane Hospice, 260 Alpha Drive, Suite 100, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
