Naida C. Peffer, 90, a resident of the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, formerly of Latrobe, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. She was born November 29, 1927 in Calumet, PA, a daughter of the late William and Pearl (Weaver) Dunn.
Naida was a member of the Latrobe Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She crocheted many blankets over the years for newborns of family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard W. Peffer Sr. in 2002, a grandson, Zachary Weimer in 1989, a son-in-law, George Kovacina, a brother, Thomas E. Dunn, and an infant sister.
She is survived by five children, Judith Weimer (L. Thomas) of Laughlintown, Linda Kovacina of Latrobe, Leonard W. Peffer, Jr. (Beverly) of Stahlstown, Barbara Onega (Richard) of Harmony, and Timothy Peffer (Marjorie) of Oxford, PA; 13 grandchildren, Daniel Weimer, Amy Andrews, Aaron Robinson, Rebekah Witz, Geana Peffer, Adam Peffer, Richard, Matt, Ben, Seth and Nicholas Onega, Alex Peffer and Kali Mitchell; 11 great grandchildren, Selina James, Reagan and Micah Piper, Tyler and Alyson Witz, Jakob and Jared Andrews, Dennis and Douglas Robinson, and Eden and August Peffer; a brother, William Dunn; two sisters, Ruth Bernett and Sandra (Charles) Freeman; a sister-in-law, Edith Dunn, and several nieces and nephews.
Naida’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Bethlen Home for the compassionate care that she received.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., 1500 Ligonier Street, Latrobe. Services will be held Friday at 11 AM in Kingdom Hall, 549 Charles Houck Road, Latrobe, with her grandson, Ben Onega presiding. Everyone please go directly to Kingdom Hall. Private interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Trauger.
