Helen Mae Curnow Palek, 60, of Latrobe, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. She was born May 19, 1957 in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Archie M. and Helen Rose (Hulena) Curnow.
Helen was a graduate of Derry High School and was employed in registration at Latrobe Area Hospital. She was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Shawlom’s Club. She loved knitting, crocheting, cooking, visiting with her niece and nephew, and spending time with her two cats, Ashley and Monique.
She is survived by her husband of over 25 years, John J. “Jack” Palek; a sister, Karen Cashdollar and her husband Robert of Shelocta, PA; a niece, Paige Love (Josh) of Shelocta; a nephew, Brett Cashdollar (Tiffany) of Kittanning; three aunts, Ann Jogun, Betty Ewing, and Nira Lipovsky; a childhood friend, Luann Klosky; and a number of cousins.
Friends will be received from 12 noon until 2 and 4 until 6PM on Sunday, April 15th in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc. 1500 Ligonier Street, Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, April 16th in the Bethany United Methodist Church, 2415 Laveen Street, Latrobe, with her pastor, the Rev. Les Hutchins officiating. Everyone please go directly to the church. Private interment will be in Unity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany United Methodist Church, 2415 Laveen St. Latrobe, PA 15650.
