Helen L. Poklembo, 85, of Latrobe, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born May 20, 1933 in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Lakotash) Zamiska.
Helen was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish and the St. Vincent Rosary Altar Society. She was also a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Poklembo in 2017, three brothers: John Zomisky, George Zamiskie and Stephen Zamiskie, and four sisters: Anna Dombroski, Catherine Marlow, Elizabeth Faith, and Mary Oesterling.
She is survived by two children: Michelle Volpe of Latrobe, and Brian Poklembo and his wife Colleen of Greensburg, a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Zamiskie, a brother-in-law, Charles Mozingo, and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Edward Szabo, and the caring staffs of Excela Health Home Care and UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for the excellent care that they provided.
