Doris J. Bridenbaugh, 89, a resident of Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, formerly of Loyalhanna, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born January 5, 1929 in Omaha, NE, a daughter of the late Harold and Louisa (Strauss) Stine.
Doris was a graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in speech therapy. Prior to retirement, she worked as a speech therapist with several school districts in Illinois and western Pennsylvania. In her younger years, she was very politically active. She loved to play Bridge, was an avid reader, enjoyed golfing, and was an animal lover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Bridenbaugh, and her sister, Margaret Nelson. She is survived by three daughters: Suzanne Bridenbaugh (Keith Tahbone) of Leonard, TX, Diane B. Bertero (Gerry) of Eagle, ID, and Margaret “Peggy” DeMarco (Dan) of Export, three grandchildren: Jamie Malinak, Emily Neugebauer (Michael), and Seth Miller, a great grandson, Brandon Malinak, and a number of nieces and nephews.
