Obituary of Tracy Marlin
Tracy Marie Marlin, age 50, passed peacefully at home on May 8th, 2018 surrounded by loving family and friends.
She was born on August 3rd, 1967 in Spangler, PA to the late James A. Morchesky and Shirley (Himmel) McClarran. She was a graduate of Greater Latrobe High School, class of 1985. Tracy attended The Eastern Westmoreland County Vocational School where she studied the beautician program and worked at Gladys Beauty Salon for a few years. During this time, Tracy embarked on some of her greatest achievements, competing in rodeos and becoming a well-known barrel racer. She could always be found with her Bull Mastiff, “Bully”, by her side. Horses and rodeo were her world. She was a top barrel racer for many years and could train a barrel horse like no other.
Her passion and determination for the world of rodeo led Tracy to move to Illinois to train barrel horses and run the rodeo circuit, all while she was working as a beautician in her sister’s salon. She made a name for herself in the horse world as a talented trainer and fierce competitor. Unfortunately, God had other plans for Tracy, and at a young age, she was struck with Multiple Sclerosis. Her drive was stronger than the disease and, despite her body trying to slow her down, she never gave up. She was passing every obstacle in her way, continuing to rodeo, and training horses even after she was confined to a wheelchair. Tracy wasn’t giving up. Her love for training animals transitioned into dog breeding. She created Rocking M French Bulldogs and fell in love with the bully’s little short-legged, big attitude personalities. Her special Frenchie, One Ton, was with her night and day; they were the best of friends. She had a team of family and friends that would help her with her dog business; her sister Cindy, and friends Lynn, Shelly, Jill, Michelle, and Paula. Tracy amazed all who knew her and was truly inspiring. She wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without companion, partner, and friend, Les. Tracy and Les met in high school and reconnected after she was diagnosed with MS. He has been by her side and helping her through it all. Tracy has taught us all that no matter what life gives us, you must keep going on, and don’t give up.
Tracy is free now riding her horses with One Ton and Bully at her side. You are going to be missed more than you ever thought girl.
Tracy is survived by her Mother, Shirley McClarran of Latrobe. Siblings, Cindy Brookman (Mel) of Mt. Vernon, Ill, Todd Morchesky (Chrissy) of Ebensburg, PA, Rodney Morchesky (Lisa) of Ebensburg PA, Jim McClarran of Hunker Pa, and Tom McClarran III of Latrobe PA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She is preceded in death by her Father James A. Morchesky of Carrolltown PA, and her Stepdad Tom McClarran Jr. of Latrobe PA.
A Memorial Celebration to celebrate her full life will be held on Sunday June 3rd starting at 2:00pm at the residence of her brother, Tom McClarran III, 260 Twin Lakes Rd. Latrobe PA 15650.
