Obituary of George Zubal Jr.

George M. Zubal, Jr., 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2013, with his loving wife, Judy, by his side. George was born February 20, 1932, in Cumberland Twp., PA. He married Dolores Sredinsky and had four children: Judy, Karen, Marla and Mary. George holds a Certificate in Management from Penn State University and joined West Penn Power in 1951. He retired as Supervisor of Lines in June 1993. George was a member of Latrobe United Methodist Church, served as President of the Ridgway Kiwanis Club. He also holds memberships in the Ridgway Elks Club, Kingston Sportsmen's Club, Carmichaels and Cumberland Township Volunteer Firemen's Club and BaFraZu Hunting Camp in Tionesta, PA. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his buddies, and fanatic Pittsburgh sports fan. George was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores, and a sister, Dolores Allison. George Is survived by his wife, Judy, of Latrobe; four daughters, Judy Biller (Rudolph Kenny) of Uniontown, PA, Karen Hess (Tom) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Marla Beddick (Andrew) of Willoughby, OH, and Mary Haky (Andrew) of Pittsburgh, PA; stepchildren, Stuart Graham of Ashburn, VA, Marybeth Douglas (Brad) of Latrobe and Paul Graham (Jennifer) of North Huntingdon, PA; his brother, Emil Zubal and three sisters: Madeline Morelli, Rita Holmes and her husband, James, and Loretta Yorko, all of Carmichaels; sister-in-law, Marla Carnahan; and grandchildren, Tommy Hess and wife, Kathryn, Chris Hess, Josie Haky, Andy Haky IV, Faith Beddick, Sam Beddick, Paige Beddick, great grandson, Tyler Hess; and step-grandchildren, Carmella Stanko Stamm, Bradley Douglas Jr, Nathan Graham, and Alex Graham Friends will be received from 3 until 7 PM Wednesday in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, Inc. 1500 Ligonier St. in Latrobe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in Unity Chapel, Unity Township with his pastor, the Rev. David J. Henderson officiating. Everyone please go directly to Unity Chapel. Interment will be in Unity Cemetery.
