Helen A. Nace, 91, of Latrobe, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 in the Bethlen Home, Ligonier. She was born October 28, 1928 in Derry Township, a daughter of the late David G. Richards, Jr. and Clara M.R. (Andrews) Richards.
Helen was a faithful long-time member of the First Church of God in Latrobe where she was active in the Missionary Society. She also served as a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader. She led an extraordinary life of goodness, honesty and compassion for others. Her priorities were always crystal clear: love for family, devotion to her Lord and Savior, service to her community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Theodore Lawson, her second husband, Luther Nace, Sr., a granddaughter Stephanie McClintock, her brother, David G. Richards III, three sisters: Dolly Anderson, Alice Blystone, and Nancy Worstell.; a step son, Edward Nace; and three step daughters: Catherine Eissinger, Harriet Singer, and Judy Newlin.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Helen is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Walters of Latrobe, and Denise McClintock and her husband Daniel of Confluence, two step sons, Leroy Nace and his wife Sandra, and Luther Nace Jr. and his wife Katie, also of Confluence, four grandchildren: Charles Walters and his wife Amy, Christine Sherman and her husband Martin, Daniel McClintock, and Elizabeth McClintock, eight great grandchildren: Noah, Ryan, Sophie, Liam, Maria, Paul, Chaz, and Ruby; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family deeply appreciates the excellent, loving care Helen received at Bethlen Home during the time she resided there. We wish to express our thanks and gratitude to her caretakers.
