Obituary of Arthur Weatherton

Arthur B. Weatherton, 90, of Latrobe, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Barnes Place Assisted Living, Latrobe. He was born February 14, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of the late Russell and Katherine (Dira) Weatherton.


Arthur was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served on the USS Missouri in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, the American Legion 515, Cooperstown Vets & Sportsman Club, Old Crabtree Sportsman Club, and the Kingston Veterans Club. He retired from West Penn Power after serving as a lineman for over 32 years.


In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis J. (Stouffer) Weatherton, brother, Donald R. Weatherton, and sister, Lillian Miller.


Arthur is survived by two children: Kay Ann Flack and her husband Floyd “Skip” of Latrobe and Craig B. Weatherton and his wife Sandy of Greensburg, five grandchildren: Amy Brant (James), Lesley Yurek (Bryan), Holly Shaffer (Bob), Julie Repak (Ken), and Ali Weatherton, nine great grandchildren: Natalie, Ben, Abby, Christian, Savannah, Garrett, Emily, Michael, and Nathan, a brother: Dale H. Weatherton (Carolyn) of Latrobe, and numerous nieces and nephews.


The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heartland Hospice nurses and staff, especially Lisa, Patty, and Mary, for their excellent care and compassion.


Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the Hartman-Graziano Funeral, Inc. 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Hartman Graziano Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors accorded by the V.F.W. #33 will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
